Silicon Harbor Ventures (SHV), founded in 2013, is an investor managed venture fund targeting investments in early and growth stage companies in Charleston, South Carolina and the southeastern United States. The fund is designed to provide the benefits of angel investor clubs through the investor managed structure with the benefits of a venture fund with committed capital.
As an angel fund, the majority of our investors are active in the evaluation and due diligence process of each application.
In addition to capital, we offer entrepreneurs mentoring and development support from our management team and members who collectively have decades of investment and operational experience in a wide range of industries.
SHV, headquartered in Charleston, SC, is entrenched in the Charleston technology market through its affiliation with the Charleston Digital Corridor (CDC). Companies in which we invest will be able to leverage the infrastructure and success of the CDC while having access to office facilities, talent and business concierge services.

is an entrepreneur and investment professional with over 25 years of experience. Mike lives in the Charleston area and is active in providing capital to small businesses in a wide variety of industries through several dedicated funds managed by Gold Ridge Asset Management. Previously, he built and sold the software company Xtract Research which focuses on legal oriented research for institutional investment firms. Prior to forming Xtract, he spent almost 20 years as an analyst and portfolio manager at several Wall Street firms, including Hamilton Partners, Morgan Stanley and Eagle Asset Management. Mike graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and has a MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation.
is an entrepreneur and investment professional with over 15 years of experience. Manish is active in providing capital to small businesses in a wide variety of industries through several funds managed by Gold Ridge Asset Management. Previously he was the co-founder of Xtract Research and helped build and sell the company. Prior to forming Xtract, he was actively involved in a start up financial support company to develop outsourcing solutions for hedge fund operations. He was also a trader for several years as part of a risk arbitrage team. Manish has a BS in accounting from the City University of New York.

is the Founder and Director of the Charleston Digital Corridor. The CDC is a successful public-private business development partnership launched in February 2001 to attract, nurture and grow knowledge-based companies in Charleston, South Carolina. Under his leadership, Charleston has emerged as a premier destination for knowledge-based companies by growing the Digital Corridor from 18 to over 100 companies since its launch. Ernest is also the principal of Andrade Economics
is the Operations Manager for Google’s Data Center in Moncks Corner, SC. Eric oversees the teams that are responsible for deploying and maintaining the many computer hardware systems within the data center that run the various Google services such as YouTube, Gmail, and Docs. Prior to arriving at Google, Eric was the primary engineer responsible for the deployment, operation, and evolution of the MACH5 supercomputer, the world's largest Apple-based computational cluster.
Garey De Angelis
has over 30 years of experience in high technology businesses as an executive and corporate director. His extensive resumé includes technical management positions at DuPont, product marketing and corporate executive roles at Apple Computer, director of SOFTBANK Venture Capital Europe, CEO and Executive Director for video communications company Motion Media Technology, VP of Product Development for Digital Lifestyle Outfitters and Chief Strategist for Mobile Applications and Connected Products for Philips Electronics.

Taylor Brockman is the Software Architect for Brain Power Software, LLC. Brain Power Software is a technology integration company for the Health Care Industry helping clients securely configure and exchange data with the Benefitfocus Platform. Taylor has 15 years of venture capital backed software product innovation and delivery experience in the mobile commerce, medical benefits management, and electrical Smart Grid industries. Taylor co-founded Motricity (Nasdaq: MOTR) in September 1999 and was instrumental in growing the company to more than $100 million in annual revenues and 500 employees globally. As Motricity’s Research Technology Architect, Taylor invented, designed, and implemented one of the industry's leading mobile content delivery platforms - a platform that has delivered more than $3 billion of content to mobile phones. In June 2010, Motricity successfully completed a $50 million IPO co-led by Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan and has achieved a market capitalization as high as $1.25 billion. Taylor is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Mathematics and in 2010, collaborated with Jud Bowman to gift the Bowman-Brockman endowment to perpetually support entrepreneurship and advanced research at the high school level via individual grants and mentor-ship. When Taylor is away from the keys, he can be found racing a sailboat around Charleston Harbor, racing a smaller sailboat on Southeast fresh water lakes, or racing behind the drivers wheel of a Volvo 740 in the 24 Hours of Lemons circuit.
Kevin Eichelberger is the Founder and CEO of Blue Acorn, an award-winning, full service eCommerce agency with a mission to deliver superior results through data driven solutions. Founded in 2008, Blue Acorn is the by-product of Kevin’s great passion and knowledge of all things eCommerce. Membership to Silicon Harbor Ventures is by invitation.
A potential investor must meet the following criteria to qualify for membership.
Applicant should be an accredited investor in accordance with the guidelines and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission of the United States.
An accredited investor has an individual or joint net worth of at least $1 million, or an annual individual income of at least $200,000 or joint annual income of at least $300,000.
The minimum investment to participate in the fund is $250,000.00 Applicant should have relevant experience and expertise to be able to perform due diligence processes, mentor and coach companies, and have an accessible network for future investment needs.
Members are required to participate in all events and activities of the investment group.
